Love & Other Wars by M.R. Maximo

Love and Other Wars is not your ordinary poetry collection. It is all about all kinds of love: towards yourself most importantly, towards life, to friends and families, to your soulmate. It has illustrations too! Because love is a war, you have to fight for every day.

We launched the book last April during our 8Letters LitFest in partnership with Design Week Philippines. If you would like to watch the video where Ms. M.R. Maximo, you may check out our Facebook video HERE.

New Beginnings, an Anthology

We are thrilled to announce that we are launching a new anthology during our 8Letters LitFest, entitled New Beginnings. The collection of short stories is a product of the first ever writing contest hosted by 8Letters. Out of forty-three submissions, twenty were chosen to be posted on the page, where subscribers voted their favorite stories. The goal is to find the top ten stories and publish a book out of it.

The stories that made it to the collection are:

Ang Paghayo by Siegfred Aldous D. Lacerna (1st place)
A Rose’s Dream by Lovely Ann Perez (2nd place)
The Mission by Michael Recto (3rd place)
Slaying Giants by EK Gonzales
I Wish for You by Ella Banta
Alyas Anyel by F. Sylveon
Before the Perfect Flight by Liezel T. Pichay
Sa Ika-labing Walo by Angelica Sinteya Onsana
Bulakbulan University by Arnel T. Lanorio
Paalam by Kim Danielle Reboya

How does it feel to have a young heart – experiencing everything for the first time when spirits are wild and free?

In this collection of eleven short stories in English and Filipino, let us take you to the world of the young, where we experience falling in love despite the fear of rejection; living for and following our grandest dreams despite the small chance; going against the flow even when they say we can’t; fighting our battles even the we have to face it alone. Our inexperience, our shortcomings, our misgivings, our courage never comes short. There will always be hope. There will always be a new beginning.

The book cover was conceptualized by Cindy Dela Cruz and illustrated by Andoyman. The good thing about this anthology we will be releasing is that the copyright remains to the authors themselves. However, this is only going to be printed once so grab your copies now. Click this link to order: tinyurl.com/8lettersorder.

Kaya Mo ‘Yan! by Pastor Herbert Fajarda

A few months after attending our Indie Publishing the Write Way workshop, Pastor Herbert Fajarda self-published his very own spiritual book entitled, Kaya Mo ‘Yan!

Kaya Mo Yan Front

Kaya mo ‘yan!

It was a pleasure helping Pastor Fajarda in formatting the manuscript and designing the book cover as per his liking. A couple of months later, he sold forty books during the book launch and asked 8Letters to print 50 more.

Congratulations, Pastor! May you continue to inspire more people! If you would like to buy the book, you may contact the author through his Facebook: www.facebook.com/herbert.fajarda.
