New Beginnings, an Anthology

We are thrilled to announce that we are launching a new anthology during our 8Letters LitFest, entitled New Beginnings. The collection of short stories is a product of the first ever writing contest hosted by 8Letters. Out of forty-three submissions, twenty were chosen to be posted on the page, where subscribers voted their favorite stories. The goal is to find the top ten stories and publish a book out of it.

The stories that made it to the collection are:

Ang Paghayo by Siegfred Aldous D. Lacerna (1st place)
A Rose’s Dream by Lovely Ann Perez (2nd place)
The Mission by Michael Recto (3rd place)
Slaying Giants by EK Gonzales
I Wish for You by Ella Banta
Alyas Anyel by F. Sylveon
Before the Perfect Flight by Liezel T. Pichay
Sa Ika-labing Walo by Angelica Sinteya Onsana
Bulakbulan University by Arnel T. Lanorio
Paalam by Kim Danielle Reboya
Changeover by Cherrie Ann Balictar (Curator’s Favorite)

How does it feel to have a young heart – experiencing everything for the first time when spirits are wild and free?

In this collection of eleven short stories in English and Filipino, let us take you to the world of the young, where we experience falling in love despite the fear of rejection; living for and following our grandest dreams despite the small chance; going against the flow even when they say we can’t; fighting our battles even the we have to face it alone. Our inexperience, our shortcomings, our misgivings, our courage never comes short. There will always be hope. There will always be a new beginning.

The book cover was conceptualized by Cindy Dela Cruz and illustrated by Andoyman. The good thing about this anthology we will be releasing is that the copyright remains to the authors themselves. However, this is only going to be printed once so grab your copies now. Click this link to order: tinyurl.com/8lettersorder.
